I envision Brett Veach sitting in his office, with paperwork and phone lists all over the desk. He looks out his window thinking about his “To-Do” List… but, with Veach it’s really a “To Do If We Can” list.
.
.
My imagination of his thoughts and motivations appears before my eyes… as if I were he. My own thoughts roll in front of me as I imagine his thoughts do for him: a long and winding road of ideations splintered into a thousand puzzle pieces of possibilities. I once thought to myself: “Give me that dang control, I’m switching stations, Dagnabbit!” … remember, that’s the piece where you said: “I’m not going to mention the Frank Clark Saga again, until I have facts to report.”
.
“Dagnabbit! You will be covering it a tiny bit more,” he says in his head. “Just not en force.” BTW, here is a link to that article:
.
Chiefs: Give me that dang Control, I’m switching stations, Dagnabbit!
.
Now thinking all the way back to Laddie’s article on yesterday… his propositions flood my cranium. Is this where the Chiefs are? Especially when it comes to the Defense End Role? You can take a peek at that article here — > “Dealing With Defensive End Stability“… and see what you think.
.
This is a sliver of what, I think Veach thinks (a game I often play inside my head)… almost implanted as if it were a glass plate in front of his eyes [he is seeing in Bold Serif Script]:
.
The topic as I consider the various exposures…
Brett and Andy Reid have got to be tossing (and turning) this around which includes Matt House and Steve Spagnuolo (Twisting the nights away?).
.
They jointly say to themselves? We have one of the top 2 DT’s in the NFL in the person of Chris Jones. I can see CJ outside at times, just not as a starter for 3 down utilization. With Chris Jones, paired with Jarran Reed… that’s is a mighty powerful pair. In his talk at RGR Football, in a “Dan’s Rant” segment, Daniel Harms covered a lot of ground. He noted that one of Clark’s weaknesses, is also one of CJ’s weaknesses. It’s also my view of Stone Cold is that he possesses the same — bend –weakness and hIs physique just isn’t geared to playing DE, outside the tackles.
.
Why mess up a great player inside? My answer is: you don’t. Chris Jones, rolling as he has, tells me that he’s a potential HoF player, down the line. In the meantime: Clark is not going anywhere. He is not going to serve a prison sentence either (MHO). Yes, he’ll in all likelihood have an NFL suspension, but who knows when that penalty will be assessed? The Arraignment is not until the middle of July and his first court date is sometime in October, and we still don’t know if he even has to be there in person for that court date. Plus, there’s the possibility his lawyer could take care of that on his own.
.
What I worry about is, which is likely what Brett Veach is concerned about as well, is getting the team through any suspension time that Clark will be levied by the league and as well as, when, that suspension would actually take effect.
.
This is why I think it is Taco Charlton’s year ascend, to meet expectations with his play at DE. It is also why I truly want Brett Veach bring in an experienced player from the edge in a F.A. signing or even though a trade. You may have this or that opine about Frank Clark, but I liked what Dan Harms had to say.
.
Seth Keysor also had an article a couple of days ago — Frank Clark’s Case From 2 Prosecutors’ Perspectives — in which he lays out the scenarios by using contributions from two attorneys, and at least one of them is an active prosecutor.
.
Clark put the Chiefs season in the spotlight and potential jeopardy (no not Aaron Rodgers’ Jeopardy, real jeopardy) and I remain angry about that. Solving the DE exposure is could be easier than we anticipate, by the possible signing of Melvin Ingram, for example. There are other things that need to get done. Before Veach’s eyes appears his… To Do If We Can… list.
.
.
The topical deliberations of Veach, Reid, and Co. that must also be going on:
.
- Jones to DE as a starter? Mistake, no matter how Stone Cold views desirability as a DE. Bringing aboard a DE of Rep trade or F/A? Absolutely yes — to cover the possibility of Clark’s absence for a period of time.
- Clark’s potential suspension? Probably will have an effect. Will the suspension be in be 2021 or 2022?
- The addition of Jarran Reed for the DT Interior? A top-level F/A signing. Powerful. Things are good!
- Clark affects opponents even when statistical category boxes are not checked.
- Will Taco Charlton live up to his billing… finally? Or Not? Well, certainly I hope and pray that he succeeds in 2021.
.
“Oh, I need to call Schneider back, Veach thinks out loud.”
Brett does that sometimes and if others are around, they think him a bit looney.
He picks up the phone and dials Seattle.
.
Well, if he is like a real loon on a lake in British Columbia with it’s low haunting call? Brett Veach is our Loon. So, we’re happy to be Looney Tunes… and, we’ll take him!
