Gill Brandt was at the Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp facilities in St. Joe, Missouri today. He watched today’s practice, tweeted a little bit and then interviewed head coach Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and Clark Hunt — to name a few — on SiriusXM NFL radio. One of the comments that caught my eye was Reid stating that, he was looking forward to the challenge of playing the Patriots on opening day for the NFL. By the way, Reid is known for saying we don’t look ahead, we only focus on the next game, always just the next game.
Just yesterday, I had stated that, “… it’s time for the Kansas City Chiefs to begin to plan and scheme for their big contest against the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots in Foxboro, New England.” And I went on to say, “I can tell you what does have great meaning for Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs: winning the first regular season game of the year.“
The point is not to say, I guess I got that right, but that indeed Andy Reid is looking forward to that game and you can bet dollars to donuts that he’s already begun scheming his nuts off in preparation for that event. [Those would be Walnuts, he really likes Walnuts.]

Coach Reid has stated before that when working with new QBOTF Patrick Mahomes II, he needs most to work on his footwork. Footwork is essential to completing passes in the NFL as outlined by Sage Rosenfels:
His footwork is a mess. This is Andy Reid's number one area to improve. Footwork equals timing. Timing equals completions. #Mahomes @Chiefs https://t.co/0GocY4zddw

Many have speculated that Patrick Mahomes ending up playing for Andy Reid was the perfect landing spot and now we can confirm that long time GM of the Dallas Cowboys, their old-school dynasty architect, can confirm:
Yep, and reason why KC is perfect place for him. https://t.co/dwmZUtsqOu

Chiefs fans should make an extra effort to get out to the last day of Chiefs camp tomorrow, if they want to take advantage of seeing Patrick Mahomes in action, because it may be the last you see of him until 2018 in OTAs.
