Everyone wants to be the next Albert Wilson, the Kansas City Chiefs UDFA WR who originally signed with the team in 2014 but turned around and signed a 3-year-$24M dollar deal with the Miami Dolphins this spring. On the very first day of the Chiefs rookie mini-camp, the star of the show was… CB Channing Stribling, who had 2 interceptions.
Channing Stribling played for 4 years at the University of Michigan and graduated in 2016. He was an UDFA with the Cleveland Browns in 2017 but was assigned to their practice squads and never saw the field. He also spent time on practice squads of Indianapolis Colts and the San Francisco 49ers. Stribling ran a 4.6 – 40 yard dash at the 2017 NFL combine. He’s said to have good ball skills and provide a tall corner for the Chiefs if he were to make the roster although it’s a long shot. His senior year at Michigan, he had 29 tackle, 3.0 tackles for a loss, 1.0 sack and 4 INTs. I’ll be looking forward to watching him directly at the Chiefs camp in July.
