Chiefs Barely Beat the Hapless Chargers: 13-to-12

Laddie Morse

In a game that meant nothing, we almost got nothing from the offense, and in the first half, we did. The 10-to-6 lead the Kansas City Chiefs had at the half came as a result of a 97 yard scoop-n-score by DB Mike Edwards. That’s right, the defense provided the scoring… of a touchdown anyway. Plus, Harrison Butker gave us a 22-yard Field Goal and that came as a result of a failed drive by the Chiefs.

In the third quarter the Chargers got another field goal to make it – Chiefs 10, Chargers nine. However, one play before that Chris Jones met his incentive with a ack of Easton Stick and he consequently made $1.25 millions as a result. The final score came as a result of Mike Edwards TD and Harrison Butker’s 2 Field Goals. Malik Herring had a big sack late in the game. All the Chargers could muster was four Field Goals. The Chiefs finish with an 11-and-6 record and the Chargers end up with a 5-and-12 record. While the Chargers will be hiring a new Head Coach soon, you have to wonder who would want to go there and play for that team?

Mike Edwards has to be the player of the game with his 97-yard scoop and score. Here’s a look at his play.

Pete Sweeney, of ArrowheadPride, said after the game:

That’s a wrap… on the 2023 regular season.

In the Playoffs… Go Chiefs!
