Chiefs Lose a Wild One in Lambeau, 27-to-19

I said more than once during this game that the Referees ruined it. That may be the case, but the Kansas CIty Chiefs have already learned to play against their opponent and the refs so that’s nothing new. Of course so many opponents and their fan bases think the Chiefs get all the calls, but I can’t see that this was the case, not in this game, a game the Chiefs lost to the Green Bay Packers 27-to-19.

Cris Collinsworth, one of the game announcers on television, kept claiming that Chiefs TE Travis Kelce was pushed on the last play of the game. A play that was a 4th-and-10 Hail Mary throw by Patrick Mahomes from the Packers 33 yard line into the End Zone. However, that wasn’t the play I really thought the refs blew, it was the play to Marquez Valdes-Scantling (MVS), a long pass that the Packers DB Corey Ballentine who was draped all over MVS earlier in this game which was valid to a degree.

There were plenty of missed calls like:

Of course I don’t think the refs determined the real outcome of this game. Neither do some others:

Some think the Chiefs season is going to the dogs because of their WRs… and some say it’s the coaching. Ransom Hawthorne, who used to write for ArrowheadOne, had something to say about that:

The Chiefs sustained injuries in this game too, and that may end up meaning the end of the year for some of those players.

Sometimes it seems silly to name a Chiefs Player of the Game, especially when the Chiefs lose. However, Isiah Pacheco — who was thrown out of this game — rushed for 110 yards and an average of 6.1 YPC. His excellent work in running the ball helped K.C. stay in this game. The team now moves to an 8-and-4 record, but Pop, as he is know by his team mates, helped the Chiefs stay in this game until the very end… even though he was thrown out with less than one minute to play. Here’s one of Pop’s best runs (0:13):

The play of the game belongs to the Packers. As they say, “to the victor go the spoils.”
