Chiefs (STRANGE) Countdown to the Draft – 4

There are 4 more days until the 2018 NFL Draft. Each day we’ll provide a bit of fun facts about the Kansas City Chiefs… or perhaps a trivia question. Since we have “4” days until this draft… the theme today is 4.

4 Fishy Facts about the KC Chiefs:

1. There are ten retired Chiefs jersey numbers: #3, #16, #18, #28, #33, #36, #58, #63, #78, #86… and yet none of them has the #4 in it. A coincidence? A Conspiracy? No #4 and no #9. Why? I say why indeed?

2. Thomas Edison once said: “The CHIEF function of the body is to carry the head around.” However, Thomas Edison died at the age of Eighty-FOUR. ……. and now you know, the rest of the story.

3. Did you know that the Chiefs organization officially came into being (granted a charter membership into the AFL on this date) on August FOUR-teenth, 1959 (a fact). Probably you did, but what a lot of fans don’t know is that on that date… in the world of planetary alignments, the ephemeris positions for August 14 1959 included: “Mars” in Virgo at 15° 21′. Now… to appropriately carry the significance of that out to the most meaningful degree… everyone — on this planet — knows and talks about the 3rd planet from the Sun, which is the Earth. However, the FOURth planet from the Sun is Mars… which also has exactly FOUR letters in it. Now, who can deny the existence of a higher universal power directing the Chiefs to a Super Bowl Championship this “year” (yet another word with FOUR letters in it). Oh-mah-gaw!

4.  44 years ago… the Chiefs punter was Jerrell Wilson… who wore jersey number was #44… and during the 1973–1974 seasons, Wilson punted 163 times for 7,104 yards total… or an average of 43.58 yards per punt… which mathematically (and magically) rounds off to 44. Sometimes it’s the FOURtuitous FOURce of nature FOUR which it is a FOURgone conclusionistic conclusion.
