The 2023 NFL Season comes down to this: will the Chiefs get it all together in their last two games… or won’t they? With the final injury report out already, there is some news that may help us make this determination. It says that RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is Questionable, but who really thinks CEH will be the difference maker in this game… and… Isiah Pacheco is Questionable, and we could predict that was the case… and DB L’Jarius Sneed is also Questionable… and that is a problem. In fact, if Sneed can’t go, it could end up being, “THE” problem that breaks the back of a team struggling to get things going.
On local radio the announcers have been debating whether or not there was still time for the Chiefs to get right. Kramer Sansone has a piece over at ArrowheadPride called, “Chiefs Have Get-Right Game Against the Bengals” and of course that was through a Madden Simulation game he played. Sansone says in his piece:
.
“Fourth quarter – The game continued to swing towards the Chiefs’ way, as Perine punched it in the end zone for another touchdown to go up almost four scores. Edwards-Helaire came back during the quarter to help run the game out for the Chiefs for a much-needed get-right game. James poured more salt into the Bengals’ wounds as he scored his third touchdown of the game to put it even more out of reach.
Final score: Chiefs 48, Bengals 14“

Stacy D. Smith wrote a piece for ArrowheadAddict.com called, “The Kansas City Chiefs and a Crisis of Belief” in which he says:
.
“For months now, the Kansas City Chiefs have been lying to you. Whether they’ve taken to post-game press podiums or sports podcasts, they’ve made a concerted effort to present themselves as stoic in the face of adversity. Since returning from their Week 10 bye, the team has dropped five of their last eight games. This team has been plagued by porous offensive production, turnovers, drops, and untimely penalties. They’ve done their level best to try and inspire confidence in their ability to turn things around offensively. The trouble is, they don’t believe a word they say.”
.
Stacy goes on to say that there is still football to be played and:
.
“Two weeks remain in the regular season and
while Sunday’s loss gives the Raiders a glimmer
of hope to win the AFC West, the Chiefs can
still slam that door shut with a win on Sunday.”
.
Notes:
Donovan Smith is OUT of this game because of a continued issue with his neck .He may be injured but his sitting out is likely taking his job away. I can see him coming back for the playoffs, but not next year.
Kadarius Toney is OUT with a hip injury. Many fans are disappointed in Toney. Fans need to remember Kadarius Toney is not Tyreek Hill.
The Chiefs front seven have had a very good year so far and they rank fourth in sacks. Here’s the top five from Stat Muse:

.
I anticipate the Chiefs DBs working out well in the offseason, and so Brett Veach will need to stay focused on the OL and the WRs in both free agency and the draft. Oh yea, the RB position will be almost completely refurbished and the only one to remain will likely be Isiah Pacheco.
