Chiefs Host Bengals: OPEN THREAD

Laddie Morse

The Kansas City Chiefs have this game today against the Cincinnati Bengals at 3:25 PM CST and then travel next weekend to play the Los Angeles Chargers. As far as many fan are concerned, this season is over. If K.C. loses today and the nagain next Sunday, it most likely will be over.

If Ja’Marr Chase or L’Jarius Sneed can’t play today, it will be huge for either team. If one plays but not the other, it will be equally as huge.

These two teams are coming at the game from similar places. Not exactly the same, but similar. Each team has under-performed this season, The Bengals are 8-and-7 and coming off of a bad loss to the Steelers, 34-to-11. The Chiefs are 9-and-6 and coming off one of their worst performances in years at the hands of the Raiders… in Arrowhead no less. Plus, the score was 20-to-14 with the usually wonderful Patrick Mahomes offering up two back-to-back turnovers that turned in to TDs.

So, pickign a winner in this game will be tricky. Will the Chief be able to make a run at another Super Bowl, or will the Bengals make it known that they want into the playoffs. Leigh Oleszczak wrote an article for stripehype.com called, “4 teams that stand in the Bengals way to make the playoffs” in which she said,

Houston, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Indy all have a shot ahead of Cincinnati. She also said:

The Bengals backup, Jake Browning, is playing pretty good football, and the Chiefs Patrick Mahomes, usually known as the GOAT in training, has not been so wonderful. While Mahomes is 28 years old, Browning is 27. Same goes for TE wunderkind, Travis Kelce. He hasn’t played up to par either even though he could set a record before this game is over (Kelce needs 32 yards to reach 1,000) by registering another 1,000+ yards receiving season.

It’ll be cold with a little bit of wind but otherwise it should be a great day for football and tailgating.
