The Integrity of Arrowhead Stadium Has Been Challenged

Shots have been fired my friends. We as a fan base, more specifically the ones that attend the games, have been called out by Smacdad over at GangGreenNation. Let me first acknowledge that Smacdad does refer to Kansas City as an upper echelon team, saying they are tough to beat at home and on the road because they are among the best teams in the NFL. So, what could he have possibly said for me to write this?

As the premise of his article, Mr. Smackdad says that Arrowhead Stadium itself and those who fill it’s seats, have no bearing on the outcome of a game. He goes on to call Arrowhead one of the friendlier places to play “of the better teams.” He punctuates his article with the following:

“Kansas City is tough on visitors because the Chiefs are a good team, not because the city is such a tough town to play in.”

Say what? I had to read that last line 3 times to make sure I read it right. Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t Arrowhead Stadium in the Guinness Book of World Records for something? It must have been the world’s friendliest stadium? No… Home of the world’s longest blade of grass? No…. Oh wait….Loudest Stadium in the World at 142.2 DB.

I can think of multiple timeouts or penalties that have been forced by the deafening noise from the Chiefs Kingdom in pivotal moments in games. This crowd can suck all faith from a team with just one big play from our team and it can keep our players in the game when things aren’t going exactly as planned. If Arrowhead Stadium does not give a team home field advantage, there is no such thing as home field advantage. There’s a reason players and coaches, current and former, always bring up the fans and the noise whenever asked about playing Kansas City in Arrowhead…. IT IS LOUD!!

So here is my call to you. Let’s get this out to every Chiefs fan in the world, especially the ones going to the game. On Sunday when our team lines up on defense let’s set the tone early. Let’s show this Smacdad and his favorite football team just how loud a world record setting crowd can be. I don’t care if it is this article of the one on the Jets site but let’s share, tweet, like, snap, insta-whatever. Gmail it, Email it LSDmail it. Text, call, or telegram. I don’t care if you have to finger paint it on a cave wall, after Sunday there should be no reason any Jets fan, player or coach, should ever question the home field advantage of the Kansas City Chiefs again.

Come Sunday, whether you are at the Stadium, the local bar that has the game on the little 10-inch tv in the corner or if you’re at home living it up in the recliner with the surround sound and a keg full of your personal favorite…. BE LOUD. Yell until you lose your voice and cheer until you are blue in the face. If you are lucky enough to be sitting next to a Jets fan… be even louder. This isn’t your average “Our stadium is better than yours” call that we get from the Seahawks or Hawkeyes, this is being called soft. I think you all know Arrowhead is Stadium is anything but soft… can you prove it?
