Vacuum OFF: Election Response
It is not against my better judgement that we stand in discourse about the events that have transpired leading up to our most recent Presidential Election because it is with the idea that fair and honest exchange can happen among us, even when we disagree to the depth of our souls. If you choose to post your opinion or feelings here please do your best to be straight forward about how you feel without name calling or judging others. It is possible.
It’s my intent to get to understand where each other is coming from politically, religiously, educationally… and whatever other “ly” you may think to provide. While I myself have been disheartened by the choices… I beleive that “We the People”… and not “wee People”… can get to know each other by “re-languaging” as we chat and using phrases like,
“…so, what you’re saying is…” or,
“… and you think that because…” or
“… I can agree with part of what you’re saying but…”
All in an effort to get to know each other better and understand why each of us has chosen to support the ideas that we support. Why? Because it’s clear to me that we stand at a place where most Americans don’t understand why their fellow countrymen and women feel as they do. Or as strongly as they do.
And that’s the goal here: to understand one another. Otherwise, who will we pass the “American Dream” onto? Hopefully, we can keep this dream vibrant through any disagreements we may have. That is my deep wish. Participate or not… it’s up to you.
